In this activity we're going to give you a set of questions to answer. To make things more interesting, they're all about things you haven't read about in this module. Yes, we realize how delightfully sneaky this is, but we have confidence that using your library, online resources, and your own sharp wits you'll be able to uncover the answers. Short answers of about one paragraph will be sufficient for each question. Happy searching!

      1. How are aramids used in making composite materials?

      2. What role did World War II play in the development of synthetic rubber?

      3. What is tacticity and how does it affect the properties of a polymer?

      4. What is the difference between high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and low-density polyethylene (LDPE)? What are some uses for each?

      5. Carothers, Dorman, and Kwolek all made polymers containing amide groups. How do amide groups affect the properties of a polymer?
