Ten years in the making, the Chemical Heritage Foundation Museum and Conference Center will celebrate its official opening during Philadelphia's "First Friday" festivities.

Come see chemistry as you’ve never thought of it before—from cosmetics to computers—as CHF opens its new exhibition galleries. Check out the permanent exhibition Making Modernity and then catch artists’ reactions to ten molecules that changed the 20th century in our first changing installation, Molecules That Matter.

TransmutationsAlchemy in art
Two ongoing exhibitions at CHF chronicle artistic accounts of alchemy.

The Whole of Nature and the Mirror of Art features photo-reproductions of engravings from 17th-century alchemical books mounted on glass panels. Transmutations: Alchemy in Art features paintings depicting the world of alchemists and early chemists from the 17th through the 19th centuries.
