Chemical Heritage Foundation Names Jody Roberts Manager for Environmental History and Policy
Roberts will lead environmental studies within CHF’s Center for Contemporary History and Policy.

PHILADELPHIA—27 August 2007The Chemical Heritage Foundation (CHF) has named Jody Roberts program manager for Environmental History and Policy within CHF’s Center for Contemporary History and Policy (the center). In this role he will be responsible for leading research in the history of environmental policy as well as organizing public forums that address topics at the intersection of the chemical sciences, health, and environment.

"We are privileged to add Roberts to our staff,” said Ron Reynolds, acting director of the center. “As environmental concerns in the chemical and molecular sciences have become an increasingly important social and policy issue, Roberts will lead our efforts to bring clarity and a balanced perspective to a very controversial field.”

Roberts holds a Ph.D. and an M.S. in science and technology studies from Virginia Tech and a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Saint Vincent College. He was the 2005–2006 Charles C. Price Fellow and the 2006–2007 Gordon Cain Fellow at CHF. As Cain Fellow he organized a very successful conference on human biomonitoring and endocrine-disrupting chemicals, bringing together researchers from academe, industry, government, and NGOs. As program manager, Roberts will build on his past and existing activities as well as propose, design, and implement projects on topics at the interface of environmental science and technology with industry, government, and environmental non-government organizations.
