Chemical Heritage Foundation Names Kara Mitzel Director of Development

 

PHILADELPHIA, PA—17 November 2008The Chemical Heritage Foundation (CHF) has named Kara Mitzel its director of development. In her new role Mitzel will administer all aspects of CHF’s frontline fund-raising program, including corporate and foundation relations and individual giving. For the past three years, she has served as a chief fund-raiser in CHF’s record-breaking $75 million comprehensive campaign, which successfully closed this month.

Prior to joining CHF, Mitzel served as a senior staff member at the Grants Office, a consulting agency that specializes in homeland security funding. She has presented on federal funding at workshops across the nation, advised Fortune 500 companies on using grant opportunities to enhance public sector sales, and wrote a monthly column for the homeland security trade publication HSToday. Mitzel holds a B.A. from George Mason University and an M.A. from Wake Forest University.
