Chemical Heritage prints disk to plate. We cannot accept camera-ready artwork or film.
Color and Images: All rates are for color ads. All images must be supplied as CMYK. RGB, Spot, and Pantone colors must be converted to CMYK process color. All 4-color and grayscale scans should be a minimum of 300 dpi at 100% of final print size. Line art should be at 1200 dpi.
Trim Size and Bleeds: Publication trim size is 8.5 x 11. All ads are bleed. Keep all live matter not intended to bleed within a 3/8" margin of trim dimensions.
Acceptable File Formats:
Preferred: Preferred format is Adobe Acrobat PDF created using Acrobate Distiller which is part of the full Acrobat application. "PDF Writer," a utility included with some office applications, does not produce press quality PDFs. Set Distiller to "Embed All Fonts" and turn off all image downsampling.
Also Acceptable: Files created in Quark Xpress 6.5 or lower (MAC), Adobe Illustrator CS1 or lower (saved as EPS), or Adobe Photoshop (300 dpi flattened CMYK TIFF files) are also acceptable. PC users are encouraged to send PDF, TIFF, or EPS files.
Not Accepted: We cannot accept files saved in Adobe InDesign, Microsoft Publisher, Microsoft Word, WordPerfect, PowerPoint, or PageMaker.
Transfer Media: CD-R, DVD-R, or email.
Proof (Required): We will not be held responsible for color, positioning, or accuracy of digital file output if proof is not provided. For color proofing accuracy, Iris of Kodak approval proof if required.

CHF was established by joint action of the American Chemical Society and the American Institute of Chemical Engineers.
